I got 8 yards of the US Air Force tartan so I could have a seamstress make a 1950's-ish circle skirt with pockets & elastic waist for any CelticFests we go to this summer/fall, and for Burns Night. My seamstress used about 3 yards for the skirt (tea-length) and had no problem working with the fabric! We're hoping she can make my husband a suit vest and me a turban too! Oh, and she made me a shawl with a simple finished/hemmed edge too! The skirt looks great with a crinoline and is so swirly and twirly!
